Londond Evening Standard – London ‘is now Europe’s capital of technology’
London has strengthened its claim to be Europe’s “silicon capital” by attracting record numbers of foreign technology firms.
A total of 90 overseas tech companies based themselves here last year, up from the previous high of 88 in 2012, according to figures from Mayor Boris Johnson’s inward investment agency.
About half the new tech companies were from America and most of the rest were from Europe,with a handful from China. They included US business networking site LinkedIn, and French digital marketing group Solocal, as well as score of smaller operations.
